Sisters: The Paintings of Anne and Dorothy Eisner
Friday, May 24 - Tuesday, June 25
Reception: First Friday, June 7, 5 to 7pm.
Sisters Anne (1911-1967) and Dorothy (1906-1984) Esiner were well-known award-winning participants in NYC's vibrant art scene in the late 1920's and 30's. They were as close as two sisters could be until Anne married and left for the Belgian Congo (now the DRC), where she lived and painted for 9 years. Cranberry Island and its now famous art colony brought them back together in the 1960's. "Sisters" is the first time their work, including Anne's Congo paintings, has been shown together since their deaths.
